Two veritable underground innovators in Portable and Jan Jelinek join forces for this exploratory collaboration on faitiche. It is built from multi-layered vocal sketches by Abrahams and reshaped by Jelinek into a fragmented, highly detailed sound world where rhythm is reduced to subtle wisps and voice becomes the central material. The source material shifts between fragility and abstraction, tripped and is stretched and recontextualised into worlds of both fragility and abstraction that reveal emotional tension beneath its surface. Neither purely vocal house nor experimental electronica, this one exists in third space as an evolving dialogue between two artists probing the boundaries of voice and digital transformation.
