Formed: Swindon, Wiltshire, United Kingdom, active 1977-2005. From the ashes of the band [b]Helium Kids[/b]. Musically adventurous group from Swindon, UK, who first made an impact as a post-punk new wave band but have refused to be pigeonholed, recording dub, folk-rock, psychedelia and pure pop as the mood takes them. Original line-up was Andy Partridge (voice & guitar), Colin Moulding (bass & vocals), Barry Andrews (keyboards - replaced by Dave Gregory in 1979) and Terry Chambers (drums - replaced by Peter Phipps in 1982).
